Okay, so in a weak moment you added an apple fritter to your coffee order. Or maybe you went back for seconds because dinner tasted especially good. We’ve all been there. It happens. Don’t fret too much, because much like how one healthy meal wont make you thin… one bad meal won’t make you fat. And if it makes you feel better, go ahead and add some extra cardio in to compensate. Just don’t make this binge/cardio cycle a habit! I frequently see people go cardio crazy to try to make up for their bad diet. While this may seem like a good idea, in reality it’s almost impossible to do. Despite what your health tracker says, you’re probably burning fewer calories than you think. That Starbucks toasted white chocolate mocha? At 420 calories, a 180-pound adult would need to walk at 2 mph for two hours and 35 minutes to burn it off. Plus eating crap food is bad for your health. It can cause things like insulin resistance, liver dysfunction, hormone imbalances and even slow down your metabolism. To lose weight (and to keep it off!) eat healthy and remember… consistency is key because you can’t out-train a bad diet.
